York's annual celebration of Chocolate! Discover York's chocolate heritage, enjoy hands on choclate making activities and of course taste on the unique Taste Trail.
This year’s festival will feature an increased emphasis on hands-on chocolate-making experiences, including a range of specialist events and an introductory Egg Decoration workshop right in Parliament Street, delivered by York Cocoa Works. For those interested in a broader culinary experience, the festival also run an introductory cookery session for making scones and truffles at St Crux Hall.
The rest of Parliament Street will be filled with a diverse selection of baking, chocolate, and confectionery stands, offering visitors the chance to explore a wide variety of delicious treats.
For families, the festival will feature more children’s activities, many of which are free. Highlights include painting large chocolate Easter eggs, a new “Eggs and Bunnies” game (a twist on skittles), and an expanded Easter egg hunt across the city centre.
Adults can enjoy demonstrations, tastings, and a dedicated Chocolate Bar in Parliament Street, offering both classic and chocolate-infused beverages. Additional specialist tastings include a unique Chocolate and Cheese event at Love Cheese on Gillygate. The Chocolate Trail also returns, providing visitors with guided tours and mini tastings throughout the city – ideal for adults and older children alike.
The York Chocolate Festival is proud to announce its official charity partner, Chocolate & Co., an organisation committed to breaking down employment barriers for individuals struggling with addiction or past criminal records, helping them reintegrate into society through meaningful work.
