Aysgarth Rock Garden

Aysgarth Edwardian Rock Garden, a unique hidden gem in the village of Aysgarth in the Yorkshire Dales. Full of limestone rocks, succulents and winding pathways the garden is easily missed but is definitely worth a stop.

Hackfall

Hackfall was created by John Aislabie, although it looks like a natural woodland it is all man-made and is packed with hidden follies, a fountain, surprise waterfals and grottoes.

Druid's Temple

The Druids Temple is a man-made folly, modeled on prehistoric monuments. It is less than 200 years old and although the history of the site is known a wealth of rumours and myths have been created around it's origins.

York Snickelways

The Snickelways of York are a collection of small streets and footpaths in the city of York, England. The snickelways themselves are usually small paths or lanes between buildings, not wide enough for a vehicle to pass down, and usually public rights of way.

Warley Museum

The Warley Museum is located in Warely Village, near Halifax, and is possibly the smallest museum in the world - it's located in a decommissionedred telephone box.

Coldstones Cut

Yorkshire's biggest and highest public artwork. Created by the artist Andrew Sabin, The Coldstones Cut is a massive construction which visitors can freely walk through and explore, the sculpture overlooks the huge working Coldstones Quarry and offers spectacular views over the scenery of Nidderdale in the Yorkshire Dales.

Shipley Glen Tramway

The Shipley Glen Tramway is a historic funicular tramway located in the wooded Shipley Glen near the village of Saltaire.

Foxglove Covert

Foxglove Covert Local Nature Reserve covers 100 acres of moorland edge adjacent to Cambrai Lines at Catterick and has a remarkable mix of habitats and species. The reserve contains semi-natural woodland, heathland, flower-rich grassland, streams, ponds, a lake, willow and alder carr, coniferous woodlands and wet meadows.

York Cold War Bunker

The most modern and spine-chilling of English Heritage’s properties, the York Cold War Bunker uncovers the secret history of Britain’s Cold War. Enter the blast-proof doors and investigate the more unusual side of York’s heritage. In active service from the 1960s–1990s the bunker was designed as a nerve-centre to monitor fallout in the event of a nuclear attack.
