The Cleveland Way National Trail is a 109 mile (175 km) walking route through beautiful and ever-changing landscapes and scenery. Starting from the attractive market town of Helmsley, the Cleveland Way heads across the inspirational, and breathtaking heather moorland of the North York Moors National Park, before reaching the coast at Saltburn-by-the-Sea. From here it’s a visual feast along the North Yorkshire coastline to Filey, passing old fishing villages and lively coastal towns.
The Yorkshire Wolds Way is a 79 mile (127 km) walking route in the chalk landscape of the Yorkshire Wolds. The National Trail wends through some of the most tranquil and gentle countryside in England. From the banks of the mighty Humber estuary, along wooded slopes and through serene dry valleys, the walk climbs gently onto the airy tops of the rolling hills where on a clear day “you can see forever”.
The Pennine Way was the first National Trail in England and is one of the UK’s most famous long-distance walks. With a combined ascent that exceeds the height of Mount Everest, the Pennine Way is arguably the most challenging National Trail in England and the route is recommended for experienced walkers who want a unique experience – but you don’t have to walk it all at once.
Thirteen miles of traffic free tow path cycling. The route passes Rodley Nature Reserve and Bramley Falls as well as the historic Kirkstall Abbey and the Leeds Industrial Museum.
A range of colour coded routes start from the Sutto BAnk visitor centre in the North York Moors National Park, using a mixture of natural and man-made tracks. Green is great for families and beginners. There is also a skills area to parctise or play before you go. Cycle hire is available.

Leeds Urban Bike Park is run by a not for profit company whose aim is to make the park succeed. The park has trails for everyone from beginners to experts, BMX and moutain bike trails and skills courses to learn to ride. A cafe and bike shop are en site.
Wykebeck Way runs from Roundhay Park to Temple Newsam on a cycle paths quiet roads and parkland paths.
Dalby Forest has a range of cycle routes suitbale for all levels from beginners and families through to experts and professionals. There is skills area and cycles are available to hire.
The bike trail is a blue graded mountain bike trail at Oakwell Hall, Birstall, suitable for all ages and abilities. It's a loop that brings you back to the start and is about a mile long.
