September is one of the busiest months in Yorkshire for festivals with a wide range of food, music, walking and arts events scheduled to keep you and the family entertained.
13th to 22nd September
Saltaire Festival takes place annually in September in the village of Saltaire, on the outskirts of Bradford. A celebration of the arts, community and the village’s unique history, the festival usually runs over a period of 10 days and attracts more than 30,000 people to enjoy some 100+ events.
6th to 8th October
A Piratical weekend full of fun, live music, kids entertainment and swashbuckling all in aid of the RNLI.
28th and 29th September
Whether you are a serious foodie or someone who just appreciates good food and drink, there is more than enough at our festival to ensure that you and your friends and family have a great time. A fabulous food market is open each day with stalls lining the streets throughout the town, offering a range of mouth-watering delights.
28th September to 6th October
Books and boots, walks and words... Come and join our unique festival with nine days of book events and guided walks in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
31st August to 22nd September
The Great North Art Show is an exciting and diverse open exhibition of contemporary art by professional northern artists, in the magnificent setting of Ripon Cathedral in North Yorkshire.
Nidderdale Show aims to celebrate the finest of agricultural traditions with top class livestock, horse and dog sections and it boasts one of the finest exhibitions of animals anywhere in the UK.
14th to 22nd September
The Yorkshire Dales Cheese Festival returns for the third year. Across the weeked of the 14th & 15th the main event will take place at Wenselydale creamery with a host of cheese-making, grading and cookery demonstration from the Wensleydale Creamery, local restaurants and producers
20th to 22nd September
Winner of Jazz Venue of the Year in The Parlimamentary Jazz Awards. The 2018 Scarbroough Jazz Festival will take place over the weekend of 28-30 September 2018 at the Scarbborugh Spa.
25th September to 12th October
A packed programme of events covering all aspects of art from scriptwriting to author talks, heritage walks to knitting rounds.
20th and 29th September
the showcase event run by the York Food and Drinks Festivals, with tasty trails, markets, demos and an array of different events to suit children, serious foodies or anyone who eats.
27th to 30th September
This free festival brings a weekend of hot air balloons, children’s entertainment, live music, tribute acts, food and drink, as well as a funfair with rides never seen before in York.
7th to 22nd September
The festival is the perfect opportunity to explore the wild and wonderful South Pennines landscape, its heather-covered moors, steep-sided valleys, canals, reservoirs and packhorse trails. Spanning the Yorkshire Lancashire border this area has a fascinating history.
