Yellow Yorkshire Month
From 1st to 30th April 2023 celebrate all things Yorkshire Air Ambulance and we would love for you to help us turn Yorkshire Yellow. There are lots of ways you can get involved and join us in celebrating a full month of Yellow Yorkshire! Why not host a recycling collection at your workplace or school, organise a yellow-themed dress-down day, or bake off, or light your building up yellow!

Meet The Vikings Weekend at Murton Park

Jorfor’s Hall Viking reenactment group will once again be joining us on the Viking village. They will be demonstrating a range of crafts and skills from over 1,000 years ago. Walk through the village and experiences the sights and sounds of our ancestors as well as marvel at Viking combat.
York Blues Festival

Lambing Time at Seldmere

Each year, men and women come from all over the world to race the streets of Gawthorpe carrying huge sacks of coal for approximately three quarters of a mile uphill to secure the best time.

Our living historians will be on site to tell you about the castle’s involvement in the Wars of the Roses and the largest battle ever fought on English soil, the Battle of Towton in 1461. Examine the arms and armour and ‘have a go with a longbow’.

Mascots first take part in the Mascot Parade in the official parade ring where punters can place their bets on their favourites. A number of prizes are up for grabs during the Mascot Parade, including Best Mascot on parade. Before the one furlong race with 5 jumps - including ditch and open water.
