“Just Be You” sessions are back for 2022 – smaller groups and lengthier time slots, making it easier for anyone needing to take their time to adapt to their surroundings, and for those that may not be at ease with noise and/or larger groups. So relax and enjoy an easier, comfortable, stress-free event.
3rd and 11th December 2022
Explore the Christmas village, meet the animals, anjoy Christmas crafts and play festive games. Enjoy a tractor ride to try and spot Rudolph among the Red Deer and of course see Father Christmas and let him what you'd life for Christmas. The "Relaxed Sessions" are a little calmer for anyone with sensory issues, these have a reduced capacity, and the sound and lighting will be turned down.

Steeped in traditional Christmas magic, we are pleased to bring back The Christmas Experience for 2022. Meet Santa and his elves, visit Mrs Claus in the house, wander around our interactive woodland walk of Christmas traditions and decorate Christmas ceramics in the North Pole. Relaxed visit with Santa and the Elves on Tuesday 6 Dec and Thursday 15 December. You can book a 30min arrival window between 3pm and 6pm.

This Christmas, Castle Howard becomes a wonderland of happily ever afters, fair maidens and magic as we bring you a Christmas experience like no other. There will also be a relaxed ‘Father Christmas & Friends’ experience designed for those who are more sensitive to theatrical light and sound. This performance will take place on Tuesday 13th Dec at 5pm.

The Winter Woodland Elves are causing mischief - tinkering with lights and sound to create a stunning party atmosphere in the woods, with the emphasis firmly on fun.

Relaxed sessions ecery Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday at 11am - turn down the music, switch off the flashing lights for a low-sensory experience, allowing you to focus on the skating. Enjoy the perfect festive activity for first dates, play dates, best mates and fun for all the family! It doesn’t matter if you’ve never tried ice skating before, all abilities are welcome.

Wheelchair skating is available. Housed in an all weather marquee and using real ice rink, right in the centre of town! You will be able to skate in all weathers throughout the day with session times from 11am until 8pm (except Christmas Day). It doesn’t matter if you’ve never tried ice skating before, all ages and abilities are welcome.

'Quiet Thursdays' for children, teenagers and adults with disabilities and sensory processing disorders. Did you know that sometimes even Father Christmas and his elves get overwhelmed and need their quiet time? Father Christmas is inviting families of children, teenagers and adults with disabilities including autism, sensory processing disorders and other cognitive disabilities to experience the joys of Christmas on dedicated ‘quiet’ days.
