The Royal Armouries is Britainís national museum of arms
and armour. At the Leeds Museum there are over 8,500 objects on display
in five galleries: War; Tournament; Oriental; Self Defence and Hunting
Leeds Art Gallery
Housing a world class collection of 20th century British
art and presenting exciting temporary exhibitions. Offering exhibitions,
displays, learning programmes, events and activities.
Coal Mining Museum
The National Coal Mining Museum is free to visit and that
includes the informative underground tour. Above ground is a museum of
exhibits, a hands-on science centre and a nature trail.
The Hepworth Gallery is one of Yorkshire newest attractions,
it celebrates the areaís unique artistic legacy and exploring the work
of major contemporary artists.
The Cooper Gallery was opened by Samuel Joshua Cooper in
1914, the son of a wealthy businessman, with over 200 works or art. Through
the genorosity of other benefactors the gallery now has a permanent collection
of over 400 pieces.
